SEO Case Study #1: Interactive Wagering Company

In 2006, a client approached us with the challenge of increasing online traffic and preventing an emerging competitor from taking more of their market share.

The client’s main line of business is interactive wagering through telephone, the Internet, and Interactive Television. Due to restrictions placed on the online wagering company, PPC advertising was not an option. This meant that the company had to rely on a strong Search Engine Optimization campaign to meet their objectives.

We responded by preparing a comprehensive strategy that included:

  • HTML code adjustments and optimization to enable deeper site indexing and to enhance the site’s searchability
  • The creation of informative, keyword-optimized content designed to draw in readers, and promote the company’s range of services. The content also contained links to the client’s site, further boosting its position on the SERPs.

Through our strategy, the client was able to achieve first page rankings on Google for 75% of their top 20 keywords. This led to a 31% increase in traffic over the last year of the campaign.

SEO Case Study #2: Audio Conferencing Service Provider

Recognized as a pioneer in the free teleconferencing service industry since 2001, the client contacted us because they were being outstripped by their main competitor in terms of online visibility. Despite the client’s best efforts and the implementation of their own Internet Marketing initiatives, they were unable to achieve top rankings for their primary keyword and its main derivatives, and have many of their site’s pages indexed by search engines.

The client failed to secure acceptable search rankings due to a number of factors, including the mismanagement of their PPC campaign, miscommunication, and the lack of effective reporting tools and protocols.

This resulted in lower rankings for the site’s keyword and derivative phrases, and led to a high cost-per-acquisition (CPA) for potential sales leads.

We stepped in to deliver a comprehensive plan of action to correct the problems and restore the client’s position in the SERPs. After a thorough benchmarking of the client’s website and deep competitive analysis of search rankings and other critical variables, we developed a two-headed strategy to fuel and sustain the success of their Internet marketing campaign.

On the SEO side, our expert web developers made adjustments to the website’s HTML code to enable deeper site indexing. We also created Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) page content, and engaged in onsite and offsite optimization procedures to drive a greater amount of targeted traffic to the site.

On the PPC side, we reorganized that campaign in order to identify and remove negative keywords. We also set up an efficient reporting and analytics process which resulted in a 50% increase in sales and a decrease in CPA of over 20%.

Our efforts led to a successful campaign, with the client ranking #1 or #2 for their primary keyword on Google, and securing page one rankings for 11 of the derivative phrases. In a span of one year, unique organic traffic increased by over 150%, allowing them to catch up to their main competitor.

SEO Case Study # 3: Online Shoe Retailer

A successful business in operation for over 45 years, the client sells the largest collection of the most popular shoe brands in the world for men, women, and kids. They required our expertise to improve their organic rankings for major brand name shoes, acquire more rankings for shoe brand terms, and gain an organic presence for gender-specific shoe keywords.

Upon careful analysis of the client’s site and existing SEO strategy, we discovered that their main brand pages had long, dynamic URLs which hindered the site’s organic ranking potential. To enhance the site’s search friendliness, we devised a sophisticated URL rewrite strategy and launched it alongside a strong SEO campaign.

As expected, proper URL optimization created a solid foundation for them to attain high rankings for all major shoe keywords specific to brand, style, and gender.

Within a month of executing the URL rewrite and SEO strategies, there was a notable improvement in the site’s organic rankings for major shoe brands. In only two months, significant gains were made on highly competitive, gender-specific key terms.

The campaign is still ongoing, but the results so far are nothing less than spectacular:

  • 46% increase in organic traffic
  • 38% increase in page views
  • 42% decrease in bounce rate

SEO Case Study #4: Garage Door Service Provider

One client’s mission is to deliver exceptional garage door repair service and customer satisfaction, as well as a program that recognizes performance and rewards excellence across their franchise system.

Their problem was that they couldn’t get their 60 franchisee websites indexed by Google. The template of these sites prevented the client from adding the meta data and content needed for them to rank, so they required a strategic solution to overcome the technical constraints. This strategy also had to be powerful enough to make them challenge their main competitor, who held a commanding edge in geo-targeted rankings.

Our solution was an innovative combination of meticulous hand coding optimization, CSS improvements, and extensive geo-targeted keyword mapping. This would set the stage for the development of search-friendly content, and make proper tagging and deep linking possible.

We went above and beyond to fulfill the client’s expectations, even flying out our technical and strategic development team to their Florida headquarters to establish streamlined processes and communication channels for future development.

The client’s franchisee sites are now indexed and ranked in Google, as a result of additional, optimized content and our geo-targeting efforts. Despite the declining housing market, franchisee owners are actually getting more business.
